RR Vs CSK, Match Preview

The two sides who finished seventh and eighth last season are now in contrasting positions. for instance, CSK after a dismal season, have come back and are the first side to qualify for the playoffs. on the other hand, RR are losing players to injury, and the side isn’t very consistent which is keeping them on the lower half of the table.

The Super Kings have a deep batting line-up, going all the way up until number ten. Their batters are allowed to play with more freedom and the players are backed to play without the fear of getting dropped. They have used only fourteen players so far, rotating for rest and depending on the conditions.

The Rajasthan Royals are still reeling from injuries after losing key members of their side. The new players have impressed, with Lewis and Mustafizur doing well. Chris Morris and Liam Livinsgtone are yet to impress though, and their roles are important if Rajasthan are to make the playoffs.

RR Vs CSK, Team News

Chennai Super Kings are in the playoffs, and could take the opportunity to rest some players. They might give Sam Curran another chance in place of Dwayne Bravo. With a top two finish on the line, they may not be as experimental though. It is highly likely that they stick with the same eleven.

Chris Morris, Riyan Parag, and Liam Livingstone are not in great form. The three are struggling for performances, but the depleted Royals have no choice but to persist with them. They have Oshane Thomas and Tabraiz Shamsi as bowling option. They have David Miller, who could come in if RR look at other options.

RR Vs CSK, Players to Watch out for

Shardul Thakur

Shardul Thakur is making it a habit to pick up the wickets of big players at key moments. He has been doing it in England, and now in the IPL. He has a knack of picking up wickets against the run of play, and his bowling has improved vastly. With a chance to push for the World Cup squad, Thakur will hope to create more opportunities, and bowl well in the middle-overs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal

The young opener, Jaiswal finished as one of the leading run-getters in the under-19 World Cup. He is a prolific scorer, and very talented batter. This season has been good for him, as Jaiswal has managed to provide starts for RR on regular occasions. He hasn’t converted his starts to a big innings, but this time e will be looking to bat through and support Samson deep into the innings.

RR Vs CSK, Pitch Report

The Abu Dhabi surface under lights is decent for the batters. There is some turn, and grip. The bounce is fair, and dew could play a role as it did in a couple of games. Batting second is a good choice with the possibility of dew setting in as the game progresses.
