Squad Comparison for Melbourne Renegades vs Hobart Hurricanes

Melbourne Renegades

There is no doubt that the Renegades’ season-ending loss of Maddinson is a significant setback, but the Melbourne team still has access to a wealth of batting potential. Since Maddinson only scored three runs in five games, he wasn’t performing up to par and will continue to carry the most of the load.

Finch has been playing outstanding batting for Melbourne this year, accumulating 237 runs (fourth-best in the BBL) and turning up two standout innings of 70* and 65. The biggest unknown is where Finch will receive support, although it’s expected to come from top-order batsman Shaun Marsh, who has recently contributed well with 95 over three innings.

Martin Guptill, the starting batter, has yet to score more than 32 runs this season, so we’re still waiting for him to have a big night. Guptill must quickly establish his value to the Renegades as one of their key foreign acquisitions. It is surely good news that slugger Marcus Harris will return to the Renegades after playing for Australia.

With two bowlers who rank among the top eight in the league, Tom Rogers (15 wickets) and Akeal Hosein (12 wickets), the Renegades’ bowling attack has a lot to be excited about. With a 6.26 ER, Hosein has excelled in particular.

Melbourne Renegades Playing XI

Martin Guptill, Sam Harper, Peter Handscomb (wk), Aaron Finch (c), Jonathan Wells, Mackenzie Harvey, Will Sutherland, Akeal Hosein, Tom Rogers, Kane Richardson, Mujeeb Ur Rahman

Hobart Hurricanes

One of the most difficult teams to predict in the BBL is the Hurricanes. Their 3-4 record is inconsistent, as their last five games have gone without a win or a loss in a row. For instance, after a decisive victory against the Strikers by seven wickets, the Strikers went on to defeat the team by the same margin the following game. Hobart is a mystery!

However, the Hurricanes’ roster still contains a tonne of excellent hitters, and as a result, the squad is the favourite over the Renegades. In their last three games, Tim David, Caleb Jewell, and Ben McDermott have all regularly batted effectively. However, now that English hitter Zak Crawley has joined Hobart, keep an eye out for him as well.

The Hurricanes’ weakness in bowling can be that they tend to surrender a lot of runs. Riley Meredith fluctuates in performance, but Patrick Dooley has gone 3/50 over his last two contests, making him the game’s X-Factor.

Hobart Hurricanes Playing XI

Caleb Jewell, Ben McDermott, Matthew Wade (c) (wk), Zak Crawley, Tim David, Asif Ali, Mitchell Owen, Faheem Ashraf, Nathan Ellis, Patrick Dooley, Riley Meredith

Melbourne Renegades vs Hobart Hurricanes Match Prediction

Melbourne Renegades, who are attempting to win consecutive games, and Hobart Hurricanes, who own one of the finest batting lineups in the competition, could have an exciting matchup. We believe that the Renegades’ hitters are inconsistent, and we anticipate that the Hobart Hurricanes’ bowlers will take advantage of this. We expect the Hobart Hurricanes to triumph.
