Squad Comparison for India vs Sri Lanka

India

India once again dominated with the ball in the second ODI, and despite making a few mistakes with the bat, it still had enough left in the tank to win. As India prepares for the World Cup, we anticipate a few changes for the third ODI.

Axar Patel might be replaced by Washington Sundar, SKY and Ishan Kishan could take the place of two of the batters, while Mohammad Shami could be replaced by Arshdeep Singh. There is so much cricket to be played that managing the players’ workloads and rotating the players is entirely appropriate.

Will any of these changes make India’s team less strong? In our opinion, no. Ishan Kishan achieved a double century in the last game he participated in, and SKY is simply too good to not amass runs rapidly in ODI cricket. No matter which six batters they choose, India’s batting will be superior to Sri Lanka’s.

Kuldeep Yadav’s inclusion in the squad provided a significant boost to the bowling. Although occasionally he can be a touch pricey, he almost always gets wickets. He is in terrific rhythm, and we believe that he gives the quick Umran Malik another excellent attacking option in the centre.

Additionally, Mohammad Siraj is in excellent shape and is solidifying his position as the ODI team’s first-choice bowler.

Even if India makes a few adjustments to its starting lineup, it has everything it needs to keep winning.

India Playing XI

Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Umran Malik

Sri Lanka

Although Sri Lanka’s batting showed great promise, the team was unable to compile any substantial score due to frequent wickets in the middle overs. Since Pathum Nissanks was injured, Nuwanidu Fernando made his debut and appeared to be extremely comfortable in the goal. In the future, he’s a man to be on the lookout for.

Kusal Mendia and Avishka Fernando also received starts before being eliminated against the flow of play. For Sri Lanka, that has been the series’ central narrative. It’s not like they lack hitting talent in their lineup, but up until this point, we haven’t seen their top order sustain itself and turn early runs into significant totals.

Even though the bottom order put up a fight, Sri Lanka’s batting appeared to be a level behind what is required to consistently compete against India. Dasun Shanaka suffered a rare defeat against India.

Better bowling performance came from Sri Lanka. Early wickets were taken by Lahiru Kumara and Kasun Rajitha. Although Chamika Karunaratne was equally competitive, they lacked the numbers to increase the pressure. The outcome would have been different if India had been chasing 50 more runs because the spinners would have needed to be attacked.

Sri Lanka Playing XI

Avishka Fernando, Nuwanidu Fernando, Kusal Mendis (wk), Dhananjaya de Silva, Charith Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka (c), Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva, Dunith Wellalage, Chamika Karunaratne, Kasun Rajitha, Lahiru Kumara

India vs Sri Lanka Match Prediction

There is always a potential that India will decide to rest some of their star players even if they have already won the series. But given that the World Cup is less than 10 months away, we anticipate that they will continue to choose the same batsmen and bowlers and acclimatise them to their respective positions. In this ODI, Sri Lanka must seize opportunities; if they do, they may cause India greater issues than in the previous two. Overall, we anticipate that India’s batters will once again be too powerful, and we are betting on India to win this last ODI.
