DC Vs CSK, Match Prediction

Two sides who have already qualified are facing off in a match-up with not much to lose. The result doesn’t affect the other sides much, and will not have a bearing on the points table. The worst-case scenario would result in one of the two sides missing out a top-two spot. The match-up can also seem like a dress rehearsal for the finals with both sides are in dominating form.

The Delhi Capitals are fresh of a fighting victory. They were chasing a modest target, but lost wickets, while Shreyas Iyer held the innings together, to win his side the game. The middle-order got a hit, and the depth of the side looks better now.

Chennai Super Kings were hammered in their previous fixture. Ruturaj Gaikwad made a brilliant century, however, the bowling struggled against Rajasthan’s counter-attack. The Rajasthan batters came out, and smoked Chennai’s bowlers to all parts of the ground. The loss may come as a blessing for them though as they can now prepare for a similar onslaught, that could be faced later in the tournament.

The Chennai Super Kings might play a similar line-up as they have qualified for the playoffs. The most they could do is bring in some other players from the bench, in a bid to balance the workload of their bowlers.

DC Vs CSK, Players to Watch out for

Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw is a destructive batter, who can take the game away in a flash. He knows how to use the powerplay well, and his ability to attack the best of bowlers makes him a dangerous propsect. Shaw did well against CSK last season, and in the first leg this season as well. He seems to like the Chennai bowlers, and could try to go after them again. With not much to talk about in UAE, Shaw has a great chance to make an impact ahead of the playoffs.

Ruturaj Gaikwad

At the start of the innings Ruturaj was at the edge of the leading run-scorers list. His consistency throughout the second leg, and a powerful century took him to the top. He is now the leading run-scorer, and with the form he is in, Gaikwad could extend his lead. He is among the best young batters in the tournament. Gaikwad is known for his timing, and gap manipulation, but, this season he is hitting a lot of big shots. He is on top of the CSK six-hitting chart, and has developed the ability to build an innings nicely.
