During BBL12, pace bowlers enjoyed great success on this surface as team totals typically ranged between 155 and 165. Any total over 175 is predicted to be sufficient to win the match.
The weather is mostly bright, though it will become cloudier as the game goes on, and it will be in the low 30s to high 20s all day.
Given how easily they defeated the Strikers, it is all the more impressive that the Scorchers have won four of their previous five games. When star hitters like Short, Carey, and Head are on the team (they went for a total 10 runs! ), it is not simple to bowl out Adelaide for only 92 runs.
It’s a little frightening how many great fast bowlers the Scorchers have on hand considering they brought in Englishman David Payne (3/20) and gave spinner Peter Hatzoglou (3/14) three overs despite resting Jason Behrendorff.
As usual, Lance Morris was fantastic (3/26) while Andrew Tye continued to rule with a performance of 1/15. With 23 overall wickets, Tye has the most among the team’s bowlers.
With patient, skillful performances on the field, Aaron Hardie (412 total runs) and Josh Inglis (399 total runs) continue to shine with the bat for Perth.

The Renegades did have a fantastic victory over the Stars, but their subsequent defeat to the Thunder was unexpected. Sam Harper’s (8 runs) and Aaron Finch’s (22) typically steady batting wasn’t quite there, and you have to believe Melbourne could have won with stronger performance from these two.
With the ball, Tom Rogers and Kane Richardson both struggled; neither took a wicket and both allowed a combined 49 runs. When the Renegades perform this poorly, it is unusual, and playing the Scorchers is hardly the ideal occasion to bring it up.
Even though Melbourne should beat Perth, it doesn’t seem realistic that they will. After that, maybe we’ll get to see what the Renegades are really made of. Finch (279) and Harper (238 total runs) do give the team some optimism for the postseason.

The Perth Scorchers will play their final group stage match in this one, and we anticipate that they will want to finish the stage on a high note in front of their home fans. The pressure to defeat the top team is lessened for Melbourne Renegades because they still have one game against Adelaide Strikers to play. The Renegades will fight throughout this match, but we don’t believe they have what it takes to win. We anticipate another victory for Perth Scorchers.
