Match Prediction-West Ham United vs Leeds United Betting Tips and Match Prediction
Despite being unusually cautious with their shots, Brighton is still comfortably seated in sixth place in the table, one point ahead of both Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa and with a game remaining against both teams.
De Zerbi was not afraid to experiment with his team lineup, but his numerous rotations at St. James’ Park backfired spectacularly, and given Brighton’s recent Bank Holiday humiliation at the hands of Everton, they might not even welcome a return to home ground this weekend. The more superstitious Seagulls fans should turn away now, as there has never been a home win in 11 prior Premier League meetings between Brighton and Southampton. However, Brighton has immediately followed a loss with a win six times in a row in the top flight – not since October have they suffered back-to-back losses.

The only thing Southampton can now hope for is to avoid finishing last. However, even overtaking Leicester City into 19th place seems unlikely given that the Foxes are six points ahead of the Saints with only two games left, in addition to having a significantly better goal differential.
Southampton can at least play freely in their final two matches against Brighton and Liverpool since they won’t have any heavy pressure on them. However, they arrive at the Amex on a four-game losing streak and haven’t won in the top flight in 11 games since defeating Leicester at the beginning of March. Both teams have scored in each of the last six Premier League meetings between Brighton and Southampton, and the Saints left the Amex with a 2-2 draw last season. However, the Seagulls won 3-1 at St. Mary’s earlier this season to extend their unbeaten streak over their doomed visitors to four games.

Strange things can happen when a team is already relegated, and given Brighton’s recent struggles against teams in the bottom half of the table, Southampton should be given carte blanche to attack a weary Seagulls backline this weekend. However, with several key players expected to return to the starting lineup, Brighton should once again follow up a humiliating loss with a commanding victory – the first for the home team in 12 attempts in this match – to get their Europa League campaign back on track.
Brighton & Hove Albion 3-1 Southampton, predicted by us.
