Squad Comparison for Brisbane Heat Women vs Sydney Sixers Women

Brisbane Heat Women

Although the cricket season is over, Brisbane hasn’t been sitting on its hands; the Heat have recruited English superstar top-order batter Danni Wyatt.

Wyatt has scored 2,159 runs (including two centuries) in 135 Twenty20 matches, good for a batting average of 20.96. Even though Wyatt’s play can be erratic at times, her reputation as a player with much of WBBL experience and a lot of potential helps bring in supporters for the Heat.

In addition to the aforementioned Amelia Kerr, the Brisbane squad also has Indian all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar, who may contribute with her fast bowling and lower-order batting.

Although Georgia Prestwidge has left the team, Grace Parsons, a promising young leg-spinner, has generated considerable excitement.

All things considered, it’s a good thing that the Heat have kept most of the same squad together, considering they are perennial contenders.

Brisbane Heat Women Playing XI

Danielle Wyatt, Georgia Voli, Redmayne (wk), Laura Kimmence, Grace Parsons, Mikayla Hinkley, Amelia Kerr, Pooja Vastrakar, Jess Jonassen (c), Nicola Hancock, Grace Harris

Sydney Sixers Women

If Brisbane thought they had scored a major coup by acquiring Wyatt, Sydney is not to be outdone. Sophie Ecclestone, an English T20I bowler, has been signed by the Sixers.

Ecclestone, a left-arm spinner with a knack for capturing wickets with a wide variety of attacks, will pose an immediate danger as soon as her bowling overs begin. She has taken 82 wickets while allowing 1,340 runs at a bowling average of 16.34 in 61 T20 matches.

The Sixers haven’t had much success in recent seasons, having missed the playoffs for three straight years. Nonetheless, there is certainly a lot for Sixers fans to be pleased about with Ecclestone and new arrivals like Suzie Bates and Ellyse Perry joining the extremely experienced Alyssa Healy on the team.

Even though it’s unfortunate that Emma Hughes will be out for the year with an injury and that Hayley Silver-Holmes has joined the Hurricanes, the Lightning still have a lot of quality to make a deep playoff run.

Brisbane Heat Women vs Sydney Sixers Women Match Prediction

This should be an exciting game to start the eighth season of the WBBL underway. Brisbane Heat have recruited well and were a solid side last year and Sydney Sixers will be seeking to put on a far stronger display than in 2021. The Brisbane Heat have our support in the opening game.
